  • Let's ride to St Albans again this sunday. Meet at Brick Lane Bagels at half 8, leave by 9.

Ride took about three hours last time, and was really nice. I think for now I'm going to stick to only riding there, Sunday is my only day off at the moment and I can't quite budget the time for a their and back ride.

Who's in? Helpful to know, so I know if I need to wait for anyone.

    1. Nhatt
  • Would like to come but I'm Ride of the Falling Leave-ing this Sunday. I'd like to join you soon though.

  • Hey, anyone racing on Saturday at Hllingdon?

  • I think Tricity is going, I'll be at work.

  • I think I'm abandoning the racing plan on account of being slow and having an unexpected (well, not that soon anyway) new niece who I should probably go visit.

  • I'm up for a ride this weekend. Not been out for a group ride before so apologies in advance if I'm a slow poke!

  • I love the phrase slow poke.

I don't think I can do this weekend; big game on Sunday, and planned hangover on Saturday after my first week of my new job- next Sunday though I'm all over if anyone's doing one.

  • Apologies if this has already been mentioned.....

  • Thanks for the heads up about hillingdon! I'm well up for that.

  • Possibly up for Hillingdon too, although for reasons I've not really fathomed I'm running a half marathon on 11 oct!!

Is there going to be a ride this Sunday?

  • Hi Girls,
I'd be up for a social ride this weekend if anyone's interested? I've been in London for three weeks so am pretty unfamiliar with where is good to go. I've also just bought a fuji track and have my trusty slow poke tourer.

  • Doesn't look like there is a enough interest in doing a long ride this weekend....Which is ok, gives me a chance to catch up on sleep and set up the turbo trainer.

  • hmmm. Off roading this sunday...I don't know why, but it leaves a funny taste in my mouth...maybe it's the dumbing down and "dress up your bike"-ness...I"m probably just in a bad mood.

  • Would like to come but I'm Ride of the Falling Leave-ing this Sunday. I'd like to join you soon though.

saw you at the clubhouse but didn't get a chance to say hi. Road shoes to equal your dragons, eh?!

    Grumpy!
You're right though, the dress up your bike bit is lame - my bike doesnt need dressing up, its already awesome. If anything I see it as a chance to have a nice ride around town, get in free at the show and maybe give some good road advice to some lady riders, nodders or no - and recruit some more for the next Ladies ride that I organise, which I'm hoping to get one in before it gets too wintery.

  • It's 'decorate' your bike, and I can assure you that that isn't because it's a women's ride--it comes from a different angle. It's been done before on CM (e.g. at Halloween) and other rides like the Glamour Ride (which involves all genders). I believe the first person to go to great efforts to decorate her bike was Manda Rin from Tower Hamlets, but it's definitely not a gender-specific thing. If you don't want to decorate, don't decorate. :)
