It's quite important to ask for something specific when you have a petition, and unfortunately this one is a little too broad.
The action group is working to draft a petition that asks for very specific actions. This is in consultation with a former communications director for Tony Blair and the purpose is to have within the petition question some basis by which the action taken can be measured and success determined.

Point is... this is a great sentiment, but unfortunately too vague to really help. If we we can ask for something very specific that is hard to refuse, and get wide support for that... then that will be a real help.
BigFatAl... did you start the petition? Good work if you did. And I and those who contacted me from the action group aren't knocking it at all. We're impatient and want to see changes too. But we're trying to make sure that the whole cycling community pull in the same direction and have clear goals and work towards them. So please don't take this as criticism at all, we just want to do that which is most likely to lead to the reduction in fatalities and serious injuries from LGVs.
