It's a pain in the arse isn't it. Something you've got to expect, unfortunately.
Think yourself lucky - I found the front wheel of my spare bike fucked when I thought it was somewhere safe - i.e. indoors, at work!

Can maybe swing you a front wheel or help rebuild if you need.

i felt the same the other week. locked my bike up in town and found two little chav kids getting to work on it with a pair of pliers?! threatened to beat the shit out of them and they had to retreat with lots of people laughing at them. still i was fucked off all day that people have nothing better to do than to fuck with other peoples stuff.
best of luck with that wheel.

Sucks. The guys at Selly Cycles go on about how if you lock your bike up too well someone will break it - just because they can't steal it. I reckon in Brum people are more likely to damage your bike than steal it.

At work?! i think you have an enemy....
good news, took wheel to lbs and because theres an even number of spokes ripped out on each side, they cancel each other out in terms of trueness so no need to build the whole thing again thankfully. cheers for the offer tho DFP.

If the spokes actually got 'ripped out' theres a big chance of hub damage as spokes are pretty strong.

i meant ripped out the rim end, not the hub end.

So, what you're saying is, some kevs ripped out your nipples?

lol.
Thats a real shame dude.
Hmmm, but it is helping to strengthen my thoughts on building a beater that looks really shitty... clear-coated frame, shitty ripped saddle, unpolished bits etc... hopefully it will act as an invisibility cloak to a bike that still rides pretty well.

hahaha
so i pretty much ride as much as i can, including for seeing friends in different areas on say an evening out. its so much easier and quicker than getting the bus in alot of cases and obviously i can be on my own timetable.
anyway last night, i went from seeing friends in selly oak to the hare and hounds in kings heath, locked my bike up, hung out, came back and some idiot stole my front light. i thought 'well whatever, my fault for leaving it on and it was just my 1 led one that i got a brighter 5 led one anyway' so slightly irritated i rode home minus a light.
tonight, out seeing friends, again over in kings heath, then after i headed to moseley to see other friends, locked up bike on the main high street, got back to bike to see some cunt had kicked in my front wheel, spokes sticking out, in no state to be ridden. no attempt had been made to steal my bike just dumb ass vandalism.
some drunk being a prick? a bike thief seeing my lock and realising it ain't happening? WHY?!????!?! ahhhhhh fuck it i'm going to bed.
