  • Offering Jan de Reus roadframe including fork

Superfast criterium geometry. Bit nervous on the straight, but gets you through corners within a blink of the eye.

    Features:

    • early 90s
    • full chrome, partially painted
    • fluted tubing (toptube, downtube, seattube)
    • routing through toptube
    • ST 58cm cc

Jan de Reus was a masterbuilder from Zwanenburg, The Netherlands. Jan built frames of great reputation untill the early 90s. I would say this frame is not of his hand, due to absence of certain characteristics, but I can't tell who actually did build it.

Condition: It is a used frame. Looks good from a distance, but the frame suffered from chipping at several places. No rust! Frame is fully chromed. I think with touch up the worst spots can be solved up to a level that I personally would find very acceptable for a rider. Alternatively you could consider stripping paint, so you will have a clean full chrome fluted tubing frame. Little dent in the chainstay caused by chainsuck. I would say this a structurally 100% sound frame. View pictures to give yourself an own impression of condition.

  • Oooh thats nice!

  • I would be tempted if I could find a way to explain this to a girlfriend facing redundancy. Perhaps I should buy it as a redundancy present.

  • i thought it was a zeus when i saw the picture.
    nice frame!!

  • it has gilco tubing?

  • No, no Gilco I would think, but it is a fancy kind of tubing. My Zieleman mountain has the same >>>

If anyone has an idea - let us know.

  • It looks like the frame found a new caring owner already

    So SOLD it is

If anyone has an idea on the origins of the tubing I would still be happy to learn

  • Wasn't it Oria (later Dedacciai), who did such kind of tubing ?
Not sure tho, they did several funny tubing.

  • I have seen lots of Reus frame and have some.
But I have never seen a frame with that tubing from him, very nice.
I am resoring a Yellow early frame now.
You can find it on my site.

  • What's with the random thread dredging and spamming to a site that doesn't work?

  • Yeah, Oria did this style.

Must have been a mistake (forgot an "s"). Don't think it's span. He just wants to share his projects and interest with us.
This is the correct link: http://www.classical-bicycles.com/

  • WOW, this is huge education for me! http://www.classical-bicycles.com/
Just when I thought there wasn't a worse font than comic sans.
What is that, I have to know?

  • This frame was indeed not made by Jan de Reus. I guess it was made by Jack Post who took over the business after Jan retired. But it could also be made by Ron Snijder who is the current owner of Reus Bicycles...
