Had just finished this bike and in the first week it has been stolen.. So irritated so if anyone see it let me know!

Its a converted mercian touring bike frame with Halo aeroage rear wheel.
    Unique marks:
ByWays bicycle sticker on the frame and also Elmy Cycles sticker on the frame.

  • bad luck. nice frame. put it in the stolen bike thread (http://www.londonfgss.com/thread123-54.html) and give people info on where and how it was stolen.

  • shocker :(
i'll keep an eye out, post your number in the phone number thread.

  • thats just bollocks will keep an eye out.

  • brick lane sunday morning

  • Some more information, such as where you live, how and when it was stolen, what it was locked with/to, would be good.

  • Was stolen from outside the Royal Albert Hall between 14:00 and 17:00 on Thursday.
Am working on Sunday so unfortunately can't get there, but if anyone see's it let me know!
    Thanks.

  • Ah how annoying, bad luck

i reckon that may not have been the brick lane crew (??) from outside royal albert hall. Cycle around loads and try to spot him and spend 1hr every day typing "fixie, fixed, singlespeed, bike" etc into gumtree. Good luck man

  • am helping a mate look for a bike on brick lane tomorrow, will keep my eyes peeled for this too

  • it's been a shitty week for bike theft - could be a lot of forumegers at BL tomorrow by the sounds of it - I know I am..:(
my eyes are peeled benny harry

Benny Harry, its a bit of a custom here that people that have their bikes misappropriated, normally say how it was locked. It helps everyone else learn from various parts of the unfortunate experience.

It seems that you still haven't answered this part. I would like to know, and I'm sure others would too. If it was unlocked, yours wasn't the first, and it won't be the last to have been stolen this way. Or if you used a cable lock, then its another experience that others will learn from.

Except for the total arsehole that came onto the Stolen Bikes thread, seeking people's help and sympathy.....then totally lying about how his bikes were locked. He said 2 Fahgs were used, but it was a fiction. Not even one was used. I still don't understand that guy's need to be dishonest though. C'est la vie, as we say in Catford.

  • Sorry, not trying to be misleading.
Was locked to the bike stands by the ventilation chimney outside the Royal Albert hall, SW.
Locked through the back wheel and frame to the rack with a Trelock Armoured cable around £40, can't remember model, and just a cheap cable lock for the front wheel to the frame. I know not the best lock in the world but have been locking my bike's with it for 4 years and none taken until now! oh well.
Trying to claim on the insurance, then out to look for another project bike!

  • Benny Harry, head over to the Locks That Work thread. Sorry about your bike, and unfortunately the amount you paid for your Trelock was too much....for how well, or not the lock would secure your bike. For less than £30.oo you can get a substantial U-Lock, and if you go for the cheapest 18mm lock (GRPS), you might combine that with a Disc Lock Alarm and the price would be still around £40.oo.

+1 Sorry to hear about your loss mate, but now might be a good time to spend out on some good quality locks that take more than 5 seconds to remove, and require more specialist tools than a very small pocketable pair of bolt croppers top do so.
