I've just recently started building a fixie over the last week weeks infact, bought an old rayleigh steel frame off a friend with some bars, adjusted it to suit by weldng in horizontal drop outs / change rear hub width to 120mm and smoothed all the un needed parts (rear brake, badge, bottle holder ect) It's at shot blasting and powder coating as we speak.
I'll hopefully get it back before the end of the month and I plan to use it daily over the winter getting to work and back (only about 5miles each way) as my 23 year old golf hates the cold mornings.. almost as much as me!
So i'll be on the prowl for bits as I have nothing else but a frame and bars!!
Si
Is it a Mk2 golf that you drive?
Good luck in finding your parts :)

James Martin can't help it. He was hot, back in the day......
Think your nose is clear by now if you've inhaled peppermint tea!
Hey guys, new to the forum! I'm moving to Swiss Cottage area soon with a mate from uni got a great deal on a rented flat. Anyone know that area? Is it good?
Looking to get much more into the London bike scene and think this is a good place to start. Currently stuck on a marin hybrid bike so desperately looking for something new as soon as there is a bit of spare money weighing me down - doesn't happen often with a pint in London costing £3 or more and so many good pubs to check out.
Anyway, look forward to contributing where I can and hopefully this forum will convert me to a fixed gear or ss cyclist in no time
Area's good, you're almost in central london, you should go to the north drinks to meet some of the forumengers!
If you look in the classifieds, there's some good bargains to be had I got a full geared road bike for £110, also JD a member here has some sweet bikes going up for sale soon.
