Bought my last 3 BMX frames from them simply because they were massively reduced, 2 of them turned up within a couple of days 1 took 2 weeks and a phonecall. To be honest their service has been inconsistent for years, I'd still use them but only if i couldn't get that item anywhere else.

Just to add what I have heard about them, I was told never to buy anything off them but this was for there bmx site.

Steer clear no matter what, the whole company is filled with useless incompetent idiots, they got two chances from me back when I used to bmx and they let me down big time on both occasions, along with many others.
same story from me, pretty useless as i remember.

i recently bought some stuff off them and they are really helpful, last time i bought from them it was a disaster! so i guess if you're lucky you'll get what you ordered! (good customer service too)

I bought a few bits from them recently. No problems. I even bought a whole bike from them once, and it arrived on time, and in one piece.

Thought I'd share my experience this week.
I had quite an extensive order racked up with Winstanleys then found this thread.
Reading some of the horror stories it seemed that the people who seemed most screwed over had more complex orders?
I decided to strip my order down to just the wheelset and it came 48hrs later.
Case of keep it simple or maybe they have picked up their game of late?

ordered a Chris King headset from them. The wrong size turned up.
2 weeks later the proper one came back and they still haven't refunded postage!

I still hear too many bad things about winstanleys. My life has been filled with joy using other BMX shops instead.

Trouble with this kind of thread is that you only hear negative stuff generally. Having said that: I had a Steamroller f&f ordered and kept being delayed and delayed so they offered me something else (like Wot?).
I was a bit annoyed as they took my money straight away so I've had £300+/- out of my cc card for five weeks or so now. Anyway, I got another delayed order notice on Friday last so decided to cancel.
I asked for a refund and was told it had gone through. But it ain't shown up yet.So jury's out for me.

I ordered a hub from them on tuesday evening. Should be arriving tomorrow. If it doesn't I shall update accordingly

I ordered a bike from them, it arrived within a few days. I did have to get in touch with them regarding a small part, first person I spoke to was useless, 2nd person was spot on & the part arrived a couple of days later.

ok I wanted to chime in as well... I ordered some maxxis refuse, they sent 1 rather than 2 because they only had 1 in stock. I had to call them when I received the first one to ask wtf was going on.
So that was crap, but the person on the phone was fine and the 2nd arrived another couple of days later.

I like Winstanley's. Always nice to get free delivery! Plus they deal with orders much quicker than Wiggle and the likes. Competitive prices too, just an ugly website lets it down really

I had a poor overall experience with them recently, but to be fair Ison Distribution were partly responsible also for delivering my frame without the forks. Although the people were pleasant enough on the phone, I felt that as soon as I put the phone down, whatever it is that they had just said to placate me by saying they would get straight on it went out of the window - probably as they dealt with another call. I also objected to having to explain time and time again my 'story' when I knew for a fact they had notes on the CRM system. It gets frustrating as hell. I would not use them again

My hub arrived on time without any problems. I guess their service is a bit inconsistent although solely based on my experience I would use them again

Still shit.
Still full of shit.

Really? I've ordered a few things recently and they've all turned up without issue. Genuinely felt they'd improved over a few years ago.
-

I ordered parts that were in stock yesterday, confirmation email that they had all been dispatched this morning, and then over the course of the afternoon they each turned out to be on order, one as late as 20th of May.
So yeah, pretty shit.

Yeah, they're shit and their customer service is fucking shit. Cunts. Unfortunately had to buy a part from them, that wasn't available anywhere else, after 2 weeks I've sent them email to see what's up, they asked me to wait another week. After that week they were like, oh yeah, your parcel got lost in mail. No shit! Then they told me, that they have no more of the things I wanted in stock and I have to wait a few weeks to get it sent out to me again.

Going to drag up this old thread to say Winstanleys bike is still shit and will always be shit. Waited over a month now for some MTB grips and some inner tubes. Customer service sucks and they've even turned their phone lines off at the moment. Fucking lol.

Has anyone had good experiences with winstanley recently or are they still shit?

I placed an order for a power meter at about 4pm on Sunday the 8th of March and received it on the 10th of March. No issues at all. (Maybe I got lucky?)
To Whom it may concern,
Since placing my order with winstanleysbikes.com I have read several reviews online that state that other customers have had problems with stock and lengthy delivery times. I am not suggesting that this is neccessarily the case with all of your sales or questioning the integrity of your business, I simply want to ensure that my order is being handled and the item is in stock. I have included the details of my order below.
Sincerely
Mark
Hi Mark,
I can confirm that we have received your order and your item is currently in stock. My colleague is in the process of processing orders from last night at this moment and your order will soon be seen to. This item should leave our warehouse this afternoon and be dispatched by First Class Royal Mail.
Our website is live and items that are listed as in stock will be just that. I hope this helps.
Kind regards,
Hetty
