I'd put the price down to the name. Also it does seem to be fit for purpose. I'm assuming the tough frame, tough looking 36 spoke wheels, slopping top tube, fat-ish tyres, and flat bars, make it a competant fixie trix bike. Although I'm pretty clueless in this area.
