  • My wifes birthday is approaching and she is a fan of all things Swedish/Scandanavian could anyone recommend a good Swedish restaraunt in London

  • Ikea...I believe there's a Swedish restaurant (or there used to be) at the top of Brick Lane

  • Is Upper Glas still open on Upper Street, Islington? That was excellent when it was in Borough Market.

  • Second Upper Glass - pickled herring is amazing and the meat is very nice and of high quality. its up 100m up upper sreet from Ange.l

The brick lane restaurant is called Fika
i'm quite keen to go myself, it looks good.

  • Other half is really into Scandi stuff, esp Swedish. These tips will get me in the good books, thanks.

  • There is a place on newman st, I believe, that is very very good and the people are nice. Velorution went there for it's christmas party, and the chef was incredably cool about the fact that some of the party are vegan and did loads of research and made sure there was loads of food for them.

  • or the canteen at Ikea?

    +1 for Nordic Bakery!!

My girlfriend is Finnish...she rates it as the best in London. No meals though, just wicked pulla and great coffee!

  • Glas at Borough market was superb. Unfortunately it's closed but is due to re-open at a new venue in October. In Camden I think.

    Mmmm - herrings.
