OK Knoydart. If you are really 25 and from London find it hard to believe you are not taking the piss but will give you the benefit of the doubt. These are the rules (you will see them broken):
You can walk into a coffee shop and legally buy up to 5g of marijuana (weed or hash).
The coffee shop will have a menu of marijuana for sale. This will list potency and price - it is usually sold by the gram and listed as hash or weed. Some coffee shops will also sell individual joints or hash cake by the slice. The person behind the counter will usually be very helpful.
You are allowed to smoke this in the coffee shop but not on the streets (you can smoke in your hotel room if they allow it).
You can also smoke what you have bought in another coffee shop but they might frown on it (unusual).
You will also be offered many other drugs in the street. Hard drugs are illegal - pretty much the same as in the UK.
