Hyper already posted this in the polo thread, but i'm bumping it up the list in order to get some new faces out to play. Usual location: calthorpe park. 5pm.
Hyper has mallets and will also sell you one for a fiver if you want to nurture it into something extra-special.
Post here if you're coming or have any questions.

This is why I tell people it is pretty much inpossible to over tighten cranks, the bolt will snap way before you could over stretch your cranks.
I find it weirder Dan, that you have managed to crack hub cones. Are you using a vice and one of those industrial cone spanners + brute force to lock of your cones? It just seems impossible otherwise.

If I could borrow a drill again (DFP?), I'll make some thicker ends, bens set didn't have the right drill bits - I can pick up.

me fail english? that's unpossible.
it's not my cones that keep breaking, it's the locknuts. apparently this is a common phenomenon with formula et al. my wheel creeps forwards in the dropout over the course of a week or so, which can only be due to acceleration because i don't have a rear brake and only ever apply modest braking via my legs. hence i bolllock up my tracknuts to ridiculous degrees of tightness (tighter even than the grip on my wallet), which must over-load the locknuts and they crack. often they'll just crack and stay there, and gradually fall to bits. it doesn't help that i keep replacing them with whatever i can find with the same thread, which usually means they're actually weaker than what just broke.

another good turnout this afternoon. it's great to see everyone progressing so fast - i really want to have a 'central england' tournament/meet up with people from cambridge, oxford, manchester etc. perhaps we can make it happen when we see them this weekend. it would be good to have some new (better) players to learn from and help us develop.
i noticed 'new'dan was taking photos - any chance of posting them?
-
• #219
there's another Dan!?

• #220
yeah yeah ill get them up as soon as ive got them developed. i was using my 35mm, because i needed to finish a film. i only took like 10 photos. but hopefully they will be done tomorrow, and maybe get my wheel unbuckled. haha
