The one thing we can start right now without delay or major expense is the proactive education of our fellow riders and other road users about the risk they pose themselves and others in the specific situations that have lead to so many avoidable tragedies of late. I think the idea of developing a high impact (fact based, non-preachy) flyer/leaflet is an excellent one. [/FONT]

We could even provide those stickers warning not to undertake to lorry drivers to place on the rear of their vehicles. They’re not some evil breed-apart. I’m sure the vast majority will appreciate us helping them to help us. [/FONT]
[FONT=Tahoma]I’m sure we’ve got all the design and copywriting resource we need available to us amongst the members of our forum. I also expect there will be some council funding available to cover printing costs if we approach them. I’ve got a friend who works for Boris doing press on transport issues so I’ll approach him about this issue.[/FONT]
[FONT=Tahoma]It only took me explaing to my wife ONCE about this risk and she has learnt NEVER EVER EVER to put herself in that situation. Spreading the knowledge is highly effective. [/FONT]
[FONT=Tahoma]Do the math… say even only 10% of active forum members take this up, with each passing the information to just ONE road user per day, we could raise awareness among over ¼ million people within a year. If the idea spreads across other rider communities then the impact could be many times greater. [/FONT]
