in that case you should definately stay around amsterdam dont bother venturing any further.
if you head out over to Haarlem its not much further to check out the beaches if the weather is "decent". the bike path up the side is worth a ride if you have the time.
other than that just enjoy the city. there is a windmill over east that is worth a visit they have thier own brewery their some great beer its been a long standing favourite of mine since i got here.
i''l give it some thought for you and PM some cool bars etc to check out.
