I thought, this was for road-SPD only.
But you have different generations of offroad-SPD cleats. Officially not compatible, but it might work out as different release angle cleats. But I still doubt it.
You DO have a certain multi-release cleat. If you feel uncertain, you can unclip by pulling your ancle upwards. Release angles are the same though.
i could be wrong, but I've clipped into all sorts of SPDs with the same shoes without a wrinkle. Ritchey, Shimano, Nashbar, road, mtb... and every time i go to the local store to buy cleats, I buy have a choice between 0, 7 and 15 degrees of float. Maybe I'm losing it, or maybe it's different in the states.
really though, th3e most important thing is to have the toe-in set correctly with your cleats.
