Thanks.
Did look like he had a bit of bother clipping out. We'll work on that bit tomorrow.
I was sure he was headed for the fence till he pulled that first turn. Took a bit before my cheeks unclenched, then I was amazed he did it mere seconds after I pushed him off for the first time. I wasn't even that good my first time out.
Isn't there a phrase that says something to the effect: A fathers wish is that his son does better than himself?

Nice one. Respect to the little guy.
Currently trying to get my eldest nippa to learn to ride sans stabilisers. The weathers been horrendous here though, and once winter kicks in we'll be forced to wait till next spring. This thread has reminded me to try and free up more time to take him out on his bike.

You did it backwards, you should of got him on a fixed wheel first, they are easier to learn on and better transfer from tricycle.
If you put him on a fixed now, hell probably hate you.

i can still remember the day my stabilisers came off.
i think it was the best day of my life. and a massive sense of freedom.

i remember that day too - we went out for a pint after. :)
After about 10 minutes of wobblies, my little me is no longer encumbered by training wheels!
Yep, I am a picture of a proud Dad. next year he will be retiring the single speed for his first fixed gear if all goes well!
