Hello! Anyone there?
-
• #78
check blb website...£38 (boo)...i think that only blb and tokyo have them...i got in touch with them in the US to see who they were selling through and thats what the chap said.
-
• #79
Checked BLB site, saw nothing on there. . . £38 is a bit steep tho.
Fuck it. Another Stelvio it is.
-
• #80
true..gone...guess they sold out. £36.50 at tokyofixedgear.com

Still twice the price of a normal tyre. Only worth it if they last twice as long! Time will tell.
-
• #82
Good tyre, better roll than i thought i'd get. Yet to try it in the wet.
I thought the same thing, the roll is fantastic. Also sounds a bit silly but just by feeling the tread I thought "these will be grippy as fuck". I was not wrong.

I've moving to running on of these on the front and a Maxxis Refuse on the back.
Partly to annoy Hippy- and so therefore I may be hoist by my own Petard.Meh. When time and space bend and you turn into a frog before exploding in a gloopy mess.. I told you so.

-
• #87
or £15 on a train...!
-
• #88
I didn't even know that the white ones exits until I wrote this review. I haven't seen them in a London shop, if that's what you are asking.
-
• #89
no I live in Leeds... really hoping for another online store that does free delivery...
might just have to cough up though, they look real pretty.
-
• #90
Your review seemed pretty positive, and is what i'm basing my purchase on thanks...
just one question. do they roll nice, or is there alot of buzz? also, do they hold up to skids?
-
• #91
Do you mean noise? I can't hear them any more than the Gatorskins I had before, ie. silent.
They are pretty tough, similar to Amadillos, and will last quite long even if you skid lots. I think they are great tyres if you can put up with the limited grip in the wet - I ran them with a Gatorskin on the front.
-
• #92
ordered 2 white ones, gonna look bling blong....
interested to see how bad they are in the wet! what psi do you run at?
-
• #93
I think it says something like 80 psi max on the sidewall but I usually go up to 100.
-
• #94
Mine stopped looking all white after about 60 meters... now after 20km they are white with blackish fingerprints and a black line on the center of the tire.

**Bontrager Race Lite Hardcase 23c x 700c
**This is all a bit subjective as I don't really have any point of reference.Grip 8/10
I'm quite staggered at how well these grip. I bottle it well before they do in the corners. They've never let go, and I have great confidence on road metal.Wear 7/10
They cut up pretty easily. I do about 75 miles a week on them, and I super glue them about once every six weeks.Puncture Protection 6.5/10
I get a flat about every 6 weeks. It's always glass - every time.Comfort 6.5/10 ?
I ride at about 8 bar, on an ally frame and carbon forks. My saddle is not a mattress. Maybe the tyres are uncomfortable. I reckon there's a lot more in the chain I could blame.Weight (or perceived rolling weight) 8/10
Light like floating leafSpeed (rolling resistance) 8/10
Nippy quickAppearance (or Looks, if it comes in colours) ?/10
Black contact, grey side walls and orange flash. I like them.Price N/A
They came on the bike.Skidability N/A
Single speed.Overall rating / opinion 7/10
I think they are very good. I would prefer to have them cut up less, and glass appears to defeat them. I am going with Schwalbe Marathon Plus 25c x 700c next, so I'll write that up when I'm back from Cologne - should be around 400 miles on them then. -

Puncture Protection 10/10

Overall rating / opinion 8.5/10
A really surprising tyre, that has a Jekyll and Hyde character. At first, the high-ridged twin-rail design, makes the tyre very fast for its weight, as you are riding only an EXTREMELY narrow section of hard rubber. This is what gives it its initially very low rolling resistance, and its treachery when meeting a raised manhole cover. Especially in the wet, it will just skip off it, and change your direction so fast, that you will need good handling skills to avoid a minor calamity. But after some miles have been put in, the twin-rails are worn down to closer to the rest of the tyre. Then the handling is predictable, and in fact, the tyre enjoys fast changes of direction.....that you have wished for, not that it has decided for you. Comfort is uncanny. It actually feels like riding with suspension hubs. It soaks up minor bumps, and absorbs sudden deep potholes with ease. This part of its behaviour, is unlike any tyre I've ever tried. Puncture protection must be on par with Marathon Pluses. I've ridden through the shittiest roads and gravel and flinty surfaces on purpose, to properly test this tyre, and nothing. Not a scratch. Buy it, wear it in, ride it till you drop. Excellent tyre. AND the tread design is perfect for dispersing water, and for slush.

Perhaps a better one for the non-skidders then - Wiggle reviews have complaints about heavy wear when skidding.

A VERY different tyre my friend.
My review was not for the rather abysmal Twin Rail, but the much heavier and beefed up Courier Berlin version. Very, very different.

replace the rear every 6 months or so, although i have 34 skid patches.
have tried other tyres and always end up coming back to these, just wished they did all black ones
Price? Where did you get them??
