i think the tubing looks too fat, the paint is disgusting and the welds are appauling
is disagree with everything but the welds - they do look shit -
• #78
oh and i suppose grey rims as well are going a bit far - a different colour would be better
-
• #79
Pink?
-
• #80
:) no.
-
• #81
it looks shit
the colour looks shit its like a toned down hipster mobile, actually thats exactly what it is
they should just release the solid blue or black and white frame again -

The new plug griffin looks schwang imo

The Gutterball isnt bought into the UK, as the distribution is handled by/or by the same company as Charge, and aparently the Gutterball is too close to the Plug, and they think it would take sales away
Thats what the GT guy at last years bikeshow told me

i like this...... specialized. funny that is shown, apparently, without any brakes/cable guides!
...the more i look at it, the more it seems well spent money. £449.99 for the all.Do you think this would be a good choice for a first fixed gear bike?
-
• #85
Why not? Try one out first though[t].
-
• #86
I think it does look like a good first fixed wheel bike, especially for those who want some 'style'.
Doubt it would be better than a standard langster thought.

No breaks?
Silly handlebars ( my opinion )go for it!
-
• #88
there is brakes, or breaks if you like, they're sold with two 'breaks'.
and the handlebar are a one-piece one, which is nice since the only way we can get those is a custom one or a dutch one.

Can't see why you would want a 1 piece stem/bar.
-
• #90
Because they look fantastic?
-
• #91
Would rather have the option of either changing my stem without buying new bars too, or the other way around. Seems like those dvd/tv combi things, sounds great, but isn't.

What is that chain guard? I have the charge grinder in olive and it comes with a slightly naff (though light) plastic chainguard. Do you know anything about a better one I can get hold of?
-
• #94
where does this chain guard come from? I have the olive charge grinder but want to replace the smoky plastic chain guard. Any suggestions?
-
• #95
very nice. Any ETA?
whoa!

Hello All -
I'm guessing that the Specialized Globe Roll 1 has no brakes but could be wrong - niether the Globe 1 or 2 show brakes in the fotos.. #2 looks gorgeous though #1 has threaded headset
Would need drops for the velodrome though? -
• #97
I think thats a marketing photo for hipsters. They have to sell with brakes on and I don't think its targeting track riders either.

Anyone found a 2010 EAI Godzilla - that frame looks to have some lovely details - quality dropouts, from what I've seen in some older US fotos, meant to outshine the Bareknuckle but looks to be hard to get hold of over here..?
Freaks me out getting a frame posted from abroad. -

The integrated stem/bars idea isn't that POC'Y per se, but a bike without a shiny quill stem?? Fuck off back to France ya hippy, hope you crash into a whale on the way!
*calm down, that's a quote

Fair point, if you have to except the stem length supplied with your OTP.
But it makes a lot of sense to me when bought separately. I have a one piece 90mm/580mm XC stem/bar. Its light, stiff, and theres no clamping join to the carbon.
Not so convinced by the drop bar versions, as the steerer tube angle would dictate the angle of the drops. This effect may be small though.
The welds are horrible!
I hope it comes in other colors than primer grey too..
