sorry, ill stop being such a image slut!
-
• #29
have u just designed it as vector, or actually into Phontographer?
-
• #30
according to google - Big Daddy Weave (christian band)
-
• #31
yeah just vector
I'm not super savvy with that kind of thing
photoshop and a illustrator is about my extent. Though i would love to get it to a stage in where i could type with it
Or even learn some of those fancy type programs. I need to go get learned from one'a dem a-ka-dem-ik in-sti-tu-shuns. :) -

i'm very much taken with this, any more info on it at all?
-
• #33
Yup that done the rounds in the blogosphere, not my cup of tea, but nicely executed.
-
• #34
It's pretty, but, um a bit colonic?

here is some more of his work, just a flicker account -

Regarding the original inquiry. Can't ever image this being used in a mark for LFGSS way too star trek. Also linked characters in any other configuration won't work. If you want to make this into a useable typeface take it back to the drawing board, start of with full characters and then start working out a system for linking the characters under a defined set of rules etc.

yeah, i stumbled across is flickr and start talking with the guy, only know he´s studying in Florida, originally he´s Hungarian, if my memory´s not tricking me. really nice stuff he´s got there...

Exactamundo! you need a grid, and start from there, maybe you have, each one of the letters need to match certain specific points

i remember, if you guys know Scott Hansen (ISO50), that´s where i first saw that G.... it went on the interweb for ages as highly skilled shit!..and it is.
-

That "G" is pretty but... apparently a sample character from a "custom bold display typeface" if so then its still riding the 2006 bold type wave, all started by Non-Format...
-
• #42
OP = none of those letterforms seem to work as single characters, not wanting to piss on your chips or owt but you should start with trying to create a coherent character set
you're sacrificing the delivery of your message for percieved style, the example below reads as
Tape deoigo

I made this at uni, I took 1 year of speciality in typography.
Not even great but works all with the same grid
-
• #45
nice, I like the style, but what always gets me is using lower and upper case in the same set
maybe could have gone with a cap. H as well. 'h' and 'n' look very similar
-
• #46
Thats my pet hate, but occurs when restricted to a very geometric grid.
-
• #47
I'm no designer, but I can't read it. Do I need to be a designer to read it? Design fail.

i find that pleasing to the eye
