Spend more cash on hubs - you have to get them built up, and they're subsequently harder to upgrade. Get the wheels right early. I use Phils, which I got cheap before the credit crunch ruined exchange rates. There are plenty of good options for more reasonable cash. BB also similar deal - you won't be changing it yourself, so get a nice one early.

My BB is Campag Centaur - quite cheap, and I've been very happy with it.
