  • If i see him, he'll be getting a kick in the meat and 2 veg from my birkenstocks. That'll learn him.

  • Managed to fool you, didn't he? ;)

Oliver dear chap. Guido was one of ours.

  • And without fear of a pot/kettle/black scenario. It's not as though violence towards motorists is entirely frowned upon on LFGSS!!
D-Lock revenge seems our most favored solution, does it not......:P

Good point. Yes, that comes up all the time in a similarly unacceptable way, too. I'd get emotional, too, if stuff like that happened to me, but I think in cases like Parris and Martin, what strikes people is how emotionally needy that violence is, and how seemingly uncaused. And unless he's making it up, in Martin's case it has been actual violence.

  • I hope he gets a pox on his little cock.

  • Oliver dear chap. Guido was one of ours.

    I doubt it.

  • Not that sort of Guido. You insult my cultural heritage. But we digress.

Ah, pardon me. Easy mistake to make. :)

  • Do you think Tesla would like to hear about Mr Martin's activities?

    http://www.teslamotors.com/customer_care/contact_us.php

    I did...

"I question the wisdom of your car loan to a certain James Martin, a 'celebrity chef' who, by his own admission, used it to intimidate a group of cyclists by driving dangerously and without due care and attention.

"He then thought it would be a good idea to write about it in the Daily Mail."

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/home/moslive/article-1211917/JAMES-MARTIN-The-Tesla-Roadster-electric-supercar-thats-fast-Ferrari.html

"You were lucky to get the car back in one piece...

"The decent thing would be for you to complain to his editor and make sure he never gets his hands on your product again.

    "What do you say?"

  • Don't know if this has been posted:
    http://www.bbc.co.uk/tv/features/saturdaykitchen/chefstable.shtml

Anyone fancy being in the audience?

  • mechamorgan, you are so win filled you made me cry while laughing so hard. thank you.

I hope that you get an extra shot of espresso at no extra charge, or a free Big Issue.

  • If it involves infiltrating the audience then all shouting 'cunt' at a given moment, yes.

This is from holymoly.co.uk before this all happened:

If someone produced a range of kitchenware to help cut up and dispose of murder victims, this cunt would put his name to it.

Makes Jamie Oliver look like a publicity-shy, agoraphobic recluse.

So James Martin *is *a cunt.

  • great game

  • absolutely, one of the best.

  • Cath Wiggins has just posted his next PA
    http://www.thisisnottingham.co.uk/entertainmentnews/Nottingham-Food-Drink-Festival-highlights/article-1328122-detail/article.html

Cycling News now attempting to organise a cyclists flash mob and getting Bradders to tweet about it, ha!

    Oh man yes!

Turn up en-masse' and boo, or yell wanker at choice moments, mobilize FTW!

    Wednesday September 16

11am and 6pm, Old Market Square
James Martin, the car-loving Yorkshire chef from BBC1's Saturday Kitchen and Ready Steady Cook – who attracted most attention for his stint on Strictly Come Dancing – launches the festival in the Old Market Square

  • I love that idea of getting the cunt pic into Google image search.

Does anyone on here know anything about Google image SEO? I know that the file name seems to have a reasonable bearing...

  • Sorry if this issue has been covered in another thread but aside from James Martin deserving some serious grief for his comments the fact is that silent cars are dangerous. I'm sure most of us listen as well as look for the presence of cars when cycling. If you're driving down quiet backstreets and one of those Prius eco-cars comes out of nowhere it can be very disconcerting. I'm convinced the number of cyclist and pedestrian accidents will increase at least proportionately with number of silent cars on the roads.

In the US they have introduced The Pedestrian Safety Enhancement Act of 2009 which requires the Secretary of Transportation to conduct a study on what effects hybrid and electric cars are having on pedestrian injuries and deaths. The Japanese have gone further and are likely to force manufacturers to ensure these vehicles are installed with noise-making devices.

Until we catch up over here be careful out there and don't assume you're safe baeause the street is silent.

yeah but those that live on trafficky roads have had their lives made wretched by road noise for years. and these residents tend to be the poorest in society (they cant afford to move).

so there is a strong case for (and i support it) quieter roads and a safer community.

if anybody has had to live on a 'main' road they will probably empathise.

imo we want quieter and safer roads = less speed please = less miles travelled = less cars = less energy consumed = less need for nukes etc.

  • Looks like Sky News is trying to get interviews with Brad and Cath as well as Cycling Weekly. Yes!

BBC seem a little reticent. Perhaps because they pay the retard.

  • look at that mug!

it's not a problem, remember the old UK road safety ads?

Look, listen, then cross the road.

Beside it's a good thing, it force people to look first instead of crossing the road blindly like they always do in London just by relying on their ears, and secondly you shouldn't always rely on your ears when cycling, observing is better.

And road surfaces are now being made to be porous to absorb sound down into the road to reduce noise pollution. Downwside is the surfaces last 6 years instead of almost twice as long, so need resurfacing more often. Yes, that resurfacing is paid for by tax payers money... blah blah, so if you drive a car that makes noise you're costing tax payers more blah blah blah. Inversely, quiet bicycles could be saving every tax payer money.

A bit off topic and serious, but true.

  • This is all very very nice, but James Martin is still a cunt!!!
