  • whats on with the really long bottle cage? does it hold a wine bottle or something.

designed for evian yes, used for wine though

    :)

  • Here's the rest. It's my travel/trick/cross/polo-bike. Here's from yesterday after a 110 km cross ride. The trick fork is in the works.

amazing. you ride offroad fixed AND brakeless? i find fixed enough of a challenge!

I do the same. Actually pretty easy once you try it. Skidding around is great fun!

Speeds are generally slower so easier to control bike speed than on tarmac IMO.

    hah!
not where i live- everything is far too slippery and rooty to ride without a brake, guess nice flowing singletrack could be fun though

looking at that gearing i think we're talking about gravel bridlepaths rather than 'offroad', i run 39/18 on my offroad fixed

  • Bubblan, where are you based? I'm in the market for a new polo bike. Are you making for people other than yourself?

  • i have to say that the frame bubblan made looks fucking awesome for a polo bike!! SS couplers for tourneys abroad... long dropouts and mega clearance!

  • Mark, he is base in Sweden, and the frames are Ti, and or you have a very deep pockets or this for polo is a no-no

  • surely he could make with 4130 instead?

  • Ti only? Steel - couplers, but similar geo.

Fuck it. I'm looking more and more at the Bruiser.

  • Mark get a Charge like mine, way cheaper oprtion

  • MKE bruiser is a dope polo bike!

Fair point, I am in New Forest so single track and fire roads only for me, and a 60ish inch gearing (36/16 n 35c)

  • do you want some leaves to go with that rake

as long as they are in the orange color specter, so they go with the bike....

    fixed

  • More of a resurrection project, this had been hanging up in the warehouse at work for the last 4 months unused. I decided to put the Atlantas back on it and drops.
Need new shallower drops and pedals to complete.

Loving this - did you have to special order the disc mount fork, or is it like that a standard? Nice detailing with the spec, this is a machine that realy makes me want to go out ad rack up some miles!

  • it comes as standard with disc mounts, the custom part is removing the disc mount from the rear! she rides so beautifully- 853 too

    ;)

  • Utter shite picture taken on the east ride today but pleased with the result, like to think it's more hansome in the flesh.

  • This is my current (well, since about March) project. Lovely old Royal Enfield Lightweight Sports (the most hilarious misnomer by modern standards), around WWII era as far as I've managed to find out. I'm trying to restore it as originally as possible. Will probably make a little thread of its own for this because I have many questions, but for the moment here is a picture or two:

When I was riding it around a bit I took off the chainguard/mudguards because they were the most rattly irritating things in the world, couldn't be bothered to fix them back on just for a photo so they're just resting on there. Just to pre-empt anyone who points that out ;). Chain is also off because I've been doing some bits and bobs.

This is brilliant, difficult to make out at this size, but the tiny writing underneath the cannon says "Made like a gun." Class. (Royal Enfield made a lot of the munitions used in WWII).

So, I need to replace the BB, do some further cleaning & polishing, probably find a nice saddle of the right vintage, and replace the Sturmey Archer hub with a single speed or fixed (which I think is correct for the era, this is one of the things I will enquire about when I get around to doing some in-depth knowledge-begging).

I love this bike. They weren't lying when they said "Made like a gun," this is a seriously heavy beast, but once it's got going it's absolutely delightful to ride. And the rod brakes make me do a little happy squee of excitement. I realise I've gone on a bit, but borrowed a mate's camera to take some photos of it this afternoon and I've fallen in love all over again, hence gushing. Please do forgive :).

  • That's a beaut jesters

Nice one, but get better foot retention, I keep getting images in my head of a single Christophe strap snapping and that lovely Roberts crumbling into the side of a bus.
