I do the same. Actually pretty easy once you try it. Skidding around is great fun! Speeds are generally slower so easier to control bike speed than on tarmac IMO.

hah! not where i live- everything is far too slippery and rooty to ride without a brake, guess nice flowing singletrack could be fun though
looking at that gearing i think we're talking about gravel bridlepaths rather than 'offroad', i run 39/18 on my offroad fixed
