Orlowski
l in Polish is pron. more like a 'w' or 'ffff'
w in Polish is pron. more like a 'v'"Orwovski" or "Orwof-ski" is more accurate.
'L' in Polish is pronounced like an 'L' in English. It's the 'L' with the line through it that sounds like a 'W.'

Yeah but the "l with the little line" in Polish is usually written as an 'l' in English because no English keyboard has it. nyer

• #54
Check it out.. it IS the "funky little Polish l with a line though it" ^^

the 'normal' orlowski frames feature the offset white or cream on the seat-tube and head-tube, not on the down-tube. They also do not feature champion bands. Although if you are to order direct I'm sure you'd get whatever you wanted. I am also tempted, but Woodrup would also build you a bespoke track frame for 400 in a choice of colours and they are also very nice in reynolds 631 I believe. What to do?

I like those Orlowski frames and considered getting one. I might still. But I've also thought about maybe getting a Bob Jackson b/c he uses oversized tubing (I believe) for larger sized frames. And I'm really fucking tall.
The only Orlowski frames I've ever seen look like the ones in the picture Hippy posted.

hippy's post above shows what I was trying to describe, but he beat me to it. Too slow!
-
• #62
Anybody know what size seatpost fits in these brutes?
-
• #63
26.8 I'm afraid!
-
• #64
I have the BLB 'Orlowski' on the downtube.
Any ideas if the older/newer models differ?
-
• #65
I only have experience of the toptube orlowski which is 26.8. I understand that he can build with specified tubing, so it's possible that yours is different.

Thanks Mr Lunh, He Mailed me and stated that the 2009 frames are 27.2mm and the 2008 were 26.8mm.
I've sprung for a 27.2, see how it turns out.
-
• #67
Turns out the 27.2 is a no go!
Shit sake. I dont want to force it in, even tonnes of grease wont do it!
next up, 26.8 ARGHHHHH!
-
• #68
why is the 27.2 a no go? i'm considering hitting london in a couple of weeks to get either one of these of a bj...
-
• #69
anyone seen the curvy lo pro's in BLB~?.......quite pretty
-

i like the look of them(the frame that is) but the paint scheme and logos are a big nono in my book. The cost of buying one at the crazy price they go for then getting it properly finished would be ridiculous. Would just go for a handbuilt in london lopro instead...
then again, if you like em then awesome! just do it justice with the parts -

Why the socks? :-)
They're nice frames - some with neat chrome lugging. I've tried to search for the guy while in Poland, but he seems to be hard to get hold of. Orlowski would be pronounced "Orwofski" by the way. There was a Katana frame on Ebay not long ago, but the wrong size. -

Got this puppy from blb last weekend, i love it!

Ha Orlowski is going to be my next frame, a nod to my Polish heritage. Going to get it directly from the land of Copernicus tho, should work out slighlty cheeper considering I'll pick it up myself and ship it to the UK myself too.
@Polkatronixx: Thread reading fail.
