16 stone 10/12 lbs depending on what time of day it is lol, at my biggest (when powerlifting), I was 17 stone 10 lbs...... ;)
James, you really should have been prepared. What if a plague of frogs had suddenly appeared? Or a Harrier jump jet landed on you? You really haven't though this one through. Anything could have happened. Did you think about the possibility of penguins on the road? Jesus...
Way ahead of you dude, I had anti-plague spray, an ejector seat, and a pingu disguise in the event of penguins on the road so I would be able to negotiate in a democratic manner with the penguins for their removal from said space.....however it seems I was not prepared enough!
None of those things are really likely to happen though are they? I just think it's ironic that one cyclist takes out another by going the wrong way down a one way street. Going the wrong way down a one way street (if it's clear) is something that many cyclists do habitually (like RLJ). And to bowl into a one way street (as a cyclist) expecting it to be clear isn't really being prepared, no.
If you can't stop in the distance that you can see in front of you then you're probably going too fast.
I had plenty of room ahead to stop, and more than enough space/time to stop for potential pedestrians walking out of said road, what I did not expect however was another vehicle (the cyclist) in the form of a stupid idiot on a dutch shopper to suddenly come darting out at a similar speed to which I was travelling, the wrong way out of a one way street, since I was already mid-corner and heading straight for her, the only chance I had was to lay the bike down, which I did, unfortunately it seems I did it quicker than I intended, managed to stop the bike, but I carried on going myself over the top of it, whilst trying to avoid pedestrians, said numpty cyclist, and bollards either side of the road, I think I did pretty damn well considering the situation, and the street it occured on, I managed to avoid injuring the numpty, and pedestrians myself, and not damge my bike.
Pay it a visit sometime and tell me how you think you would handle such a situation, in such a small amount of space!
I don't think James 'bowled into' a one way street, did he? I read is as though he turned into that street (the right way) and the other person was coming down it, the wrong way.
Agreed that most people do this and also RLJ (guilty), but I know it's my fault if I get hit doing so.

Joel, I'm going to disagree with you.
I feel that CJ did the right thing in venting his spleen at the silly woman.
It will have shocked her, and maybe saved her a fatal accident in the future. What if CJ were not on a bike, but was a lorry driver? The woman would not be a lucky as to get a simple balling-out.
When I was a courier, a lady was crossing with a group of people on Euston Road. The light was green for me, and the red man was showing for them, but there was no traffic, so they crossed. I aimed to cycle behind them, as though they should not have been crossing, they weren't really slowing me down. The lady at the back of the group saw me at the last second, and jumped BACKWARDS into my path! My bike hit her with full force and she was sent sailing onto the tarmac. She cracked her skull open, and blood flowed freely down Euston Road. I got off my bike screaming obscenities at her. I was in shock.
The police wanted to arrest me, but witnesses told them exactly what happened. If the woman had been conscious to hear my tirade, she would would be more mindful in the future when crossing a main road. CJ's lady was much luckier, and will have learnt the same ultimate lesson.
Being nice would make the lady possibly not see how serious the situation could have been. Mind you, she was probably checking out CJ's 16stone, and wanting him to ask her out or something. ;) Go CJ!
Thank you for re-enforcing my point with some further common sense, although I do regret swearing at her, she needed to be told the stupidity of pulling off such a maneuvre without even paying any attention to the road ahead!
You crashed my bike!
of course it rolls fast. built for racin!
I'm sorry man, if it helps at all the bike didn't really crash, I kind of stopped it and allowed myself to take the impact instead haha, and yes it rolls frickin fast, its awesome, i'm gonna put some lighter weight tyres on it that can take 120psi as well as up the gearing a little bit and then I reckon it will be amazing, oh yeah and i'm putting my top of the range KMC track chain on it to :p, and foot retention haha!
