  • should be doing dammits to help inebriate the A category riders, the reward will be worth it. ehbodys gonna benefit!
no worries about the other thing :-)

i think its only with hindsight that we think it would have been to the hapless fools advantage if we had clipped them just enough to make them realise that they dont have a force field around themselves.
sadly if this woman continues to think that the world revolves around her then she going to come a cropper.
this scenario proves we have to look where we are going and assume that everybody else might be looking at the pretty girl or boy they just passed on the other side of the road.

    ride safely.

    sorry if i missed something.

  • Is it a sexist topic already or I'd have to wait a mo?

  • This bike has a brake you cunt!

    I wasn't on my fixed I was on a 24 inch cruiser bmx....for the record ;)

and here i was thinking you were riding a track bike with no chain down a hill...

  • was she one of those uber fashionista types, sitting up and begging with totally inappropriate cycle shoes?

aka hot. no thats been covered.

  • No, but that would have been irrelevant anyway.

Not if she said sorry and I'll make it up to you in the alley just around the corner.............

    it is now ;o)))

  • it is now ;o)))

    good work that man!

  • cool

  • Maybe she doesn't have a lot of confidence on the road and someone flying around the corner scares her, then being swore at probably upset her/made her more defense/scared.

I could believe that over her having an attitude of owning the road. she is in the wrong but i have found people scared of cycling doing stupid things (pavement riding, one way streets, not looking in the right place, erratic steering) etc etc

I would have expained to her what she did wrong, if she was sorry i'd roll on. if she got all mouthy and up in my face then i'd unleash the flying Falcon punch! end oF!

And now, we've got a problem here, because it's hard to give a girl special treatment, because this is also patronising ergo sexist. People should have more awernes while cycling, as they share the road with other vehicles and pedestrians.

  • CrazyJames - Dancing James - you never see them together do you...

    That's some crazy dancing..

ahh i'd be the same man/woman/child/chinc/darkie the job lot - same applies to peds i.e anything that was as or more vunerable.
always give them the benefit of the doubt, saves escalation

Nah, it's PCeeeeeeeeee gawn maad. The majority of decent blokes give girls special treatment. For example, I'd never hit a woman even if she tried to slap me - it's just the way I was brought up. And frankly, despite the circumstances, I think James was wrong to keep telling her to fuck off when she was probably pretty shocked and genuinely concerned about whether he was hurt or not. If that's makes me a sexist pig then I'm fine with that.

  • Shush, I'm just treading on shells here trying to not alarm the PC police.

  • Bollocks she got what she deserved she is lucky she wasnt hurt, i bet she would prefer a four letter rant to being ploughed into by a 15 stone bloke!

  • No way I'd hit a girl unless she was incredibly evil and scratching my eyes out. However, I would feign a punch at any girl that comes at me, I'd imagine that would sober their violent ambitions a bit.

Bollocks. There were more possible outcomes to the situation than that. Doesn't sound to me like she got a great deal of choice.

  • James didnt get a great deal of choice about having to stop either! She was at fault, she got ranted at, she will probably look both ways from now on!

  • tough being perfect wally

If James had been driving a car or riding a scooter/motorbike and gone into the back of her it would have technically been his fault. She might also go away thinking that cyclists are aggressive nutters and she's better off sticking to driving in London, who can say? It's the fact that she asked him if he was ok and he just told her to fuck off several times (his words, see OP) that doesn't cut it for me. He was simply venting his anger and shock at her.

  • I have only ever hit one girl.

She went for me with a bottle after I had stopped her boyfriend kicking her across the floor next to the pub I worked in.

I now keep well away from other people's domestic situations.

There are always exceptions to the rule and that's probably one of them.
