Great work from the bouncer, wtf.
Bad luck.
-
• #3
Fuck it Posy that's the second one you've lost this year!
Fuckers! eyes open. -
• #4
Fuck - how long does it take to get through a Mini D?? Classic 'not my problem' behaviour from the bouncer. WAC. Eyes peeled.

I'm new to the site so not sure of the answer, but how often do stolen bikes get spotted on here after a post like this?

10-20 very loud (with accompanying shower of sparks) seconds.

More than you would think!

in the bouncers words 'if I'd known it was yours I'd of stopped them'. sweet.
anyway - this all went down on a busy road at about 7.30 pm so it just goes to show you can't do sod all to keep your bike safe in this stupid city. -

How naive I was in thinking it'd be a minute or two. Dayyyum. Can't believe nobody did anything though. That must have drawn a lot of attention. I guess nobody wants to be faced with a cunt wielding an angle-grinder.

What did the guy look like? I once caught this dodgy bastard grinding up D locks in my lounge room.

bike thieves are out in force this week. Five of my friends have had their's nicked this week
-
• #14
Has the children already got kicked out of school within the first week and end up trying to steal bicycle?
-
• #15
Stupid question - don't angle grinders need a power supply?!
-
• #16
Not cordless ones
-
• #17
Yeah I thought must be cordless but surely they don't have much oomph - seems they do :-/
-
• #18
oh they're plently powerful, cutting the lock however mean there'll be a lots of noise and take sometime half a minutes or longer if it a decent lock, only take a couple second for a normal lock to be cut.

Cordless power tools are getting pretty impressive now you'd probably be surprised how capable they are. A Hitachi or DeWALT 18v cordless drill is probably more powerful than most peoples home diy corded power drills.
I think you can get a DeWALT cordless angle grinder for around £150 now from screwfix. Doesn't take many bikes to pay for itself.

What kind of D lock was it?
I'd always thought my bike was reasonably safe with a kryptonite new york D lock on it, thought they would just choose an easier target... guess I'm re thinking that one... -
• #21
If they want your bike, they will take it, regardless of the lock.

10-20 very loud (with accompanying shower of sparks) seconds.
I am going to buy an alarm lock like Clefty, but its really worrying that not even 'very loud' sounds of someone obviously stealing something can be a deterrent.
Sorry to hear of your bike loss Posy :(

.
another day another robbed bike. 8 little shits with an angle grinder went straight through a mini D in broad daylight infront of a huge bouncer at the Macbeth last night. Hoxton Street.
they came back later at about midnight and nicked my friend Dayo's too.
So - please keep your eyes peeled..
Charge Plug, purple chain, double leather toe straps, tiny cut off risers, brown bar tape, loads of extra charge stickers, a couple of soft porn stickers and a small riser stem.
Dayo's bike is green, charge bucket seat, white / blue grips, flat bars...
if anyone sees anything drop me a line please? thanks x
