I've never read a bad review of them.
The Blunts I've ordered are designed to give the XC guys a bit of width, and as such, are not as strong as the Gordos (tough enough for all mountain usage). The gordos weigh in at 700g but IMHO the extra width makes up for this extra weight.
wide rims allow for wide, high volume, tyres + lower PSI. This gives better traction and comfort.
Also, rear wheel traction is often considered of extra importance sans gears.
