ok, so i've just checked out manley park and it was fully flood lit! There was a gang of around 15 lads just hanging around right near it though. I cycled in and asked them how long it was lit until, and one one them said 11pm every night!
One of them said "why are you asking?" so i told them about polo. Turns out that one of them has seen us playing in chorlton. I asked if it would be cool if we played there and they said "its a public court so you can do what you like"
They weren't overly friendly, but they didn't give me any trouble. They seemed a bit older than the chav kids from platt fields, some in their 30's...but i reckon its cool to play there.
Lets try it on Monday. We can get there for 6ish, and if its busy then we can go for a drink and come back. One of the guys said that no one uses it when it gets dark and it will soon be dark by 5pm when the clocks go back. It could be the perfect winter court!
I'll take some pictures tomorrow, but you can check it out on google street view. Just type 'manley park' into google maps then drag the street view to sit on Clarendon road, then you can zoom in to see the court. Its about the same length as platt but a bit wider.
