  • What's the deal with the Chubs though - are those industrial bearings, or more of a style thing.

higher flange = less stress on the spoke. it's built with plain gauge spokes, and is ridiculously stiff... it's like riding on a disc wheel...... it's not very forgiving though.

    !
    Black chainring bolts?

maybe, but i'm not that picky.

It definitely look nicer, what gearing is that? it look pretty spinny.

i feel much better now i have your approval Ed....48/19.. perfect.

I love this colour scheme! Nice work, hoops. B43 of H+ rims?

I was going to do something similar on my Steamroller, which is a similar green, but all of my components are silver. I'm happy with it, but it's not nearly so millitaristic and that makes me sad.

they iz B43's.... and i'm not into the army or any thing.... i've been planning on getting a bike in that RAL colour since last year, and i just allways have black components.

funny i have one sitting on my bench.

    ok...?

I usually have all black components on all of my bikes, but in recent times I've drifted towards all silver on both the Steamroller and the Peregrine (still have all black on the MTBs, except for cranksets which are XT or cut down XTR M960).

With the move to Australia, I actually want to build up a really close clearance fixed wheel bike with B43 rims... although it's all rather sad given the money I've just spent on the Steamroller and I think the wife is (not unreasonably) getting a little miffed with the number of bikes I have!

I really like some of the frames that Shop 14 are producing, if a little pricey at times.

  • If I may, be carefull with your rear wheel.
I have one of these, and I damaged the thread of the lockring a bit too easily... Metal is quite soft... In brief, I have no reason to complain about the wheel, it does the job, but it needs to be treated with great care when you tigh you sprocket and lockring...

i think the frames are good value for what you get, but i do agree most of the other stuff in there is over-priced.
but they are nice guys, and seem to be doing very well. if there are people out there willing to pay that much for stuff, then fair play to 14, it is a business after all, and the whole point of a business is to make money.

  • Are you sure you're not into the army Spagettihoops? Are you positive you're not building a prototype army bike?

  • This arrived today. Pic looks black but it's a plum colour. Gonna put a black Dodici rim on the back.

  • @Spagettihoops. That Miche Advanced is awesome.

  • where did you pick up that dave yates from??

  • From this very Forum. Come down from Scotland. Don't think it has seen a road yet. (goes and fetches drill)

  • Loving the bike Rob, looks awesome with chub/B43 Combo

  • Currently in the process of converting this bike into a fixed wheel:

Having trouble sourcing the parts at the moment - especially a rear wheel. Ahhh, patience is a virtue...I guess....

That's lush. And plum - something different.

  • Random bits that I don't know what to do with

I know it looks weird, its a lo pro frame

doesnt look weird, looks amazing imo

  • I have a feeling Gizmond is joking. It also has a slack chain.

  • Actually, I meant it. Looks a bit weird in the pictures. Looks nicer in real life. Just don't know what to do with it. Probably end up just selling all the bits.

  • What looks weird to you? I like it.

I actually like it,but if I had put it together I would have got a right slagging.

Is that about 60/59 it's very nice.

  • Is that a tarck disc guy?

Either way very nice bike but can't imagine it was desgned for drops!

  • gizzmond, is that the lo pro off ebay recently?

  • Got these bits coming hopefully for the look frame, what do you guys think of black track rings,or just stick with same colour as cranks.

    Yeah, Campag track disc.

Not meant as a build, just a collection of random bits that have no purpose, thought it might inspire me into a project, but no luck.

  • gizzmond, is that the lo pro off ebay recently?

Yep, I will probably go straight back there shortly.
