Where is the best place to lock up your bike around that area? I thought outside Rich Mix and actually on the Brick Lane bike parking frames outside the restaurants where it is relatively public (chain and d lock in both cases). If anyone knows a more secure spot, I'm all ears (eyes, I guess, on a forum).

I reckon that outside the RichMix should generally be ok. Sano has had some horrible luck. It's more about getting a Fag/cable and also insuring your bike. Not much else you can do I guess, except maybe 2 Fags/cables.............

Not my bikes, dude! They belong to some French friends who aren't on here...

Merci to everyone, I'm now registered on london fixed gear, so i guess that's the good news of the day!!the bad news... those two bikes are very much missed.
Rich mix is supposed to be safe for your bikes. we had shitty locks. and its technically our fault. but what a strange world. and yes there is CCTV but they cant see the bike park from their angle. pointless CCTV. doesnt surprise me to be honest...
thanks for looking for those bad boys.

oh boy, I usually go to the cinema at the rich mix (cheaper than most central ones) - good luck.
My two friends got their bikes stolen yesterday evening from outside the Rich Mix on Bethnal Green Road. Before anyone asks, they were locked with a crap lock which was just cut through and taken with the bikes.
They're not really worth anything, except to their owners, but we'd really appreciate it if you could keep eyes open. The handlebar set ups are kind of, erm, unique and I can't imagine whoever took them is going to part them out.
The red one is a Flandria frame and had a black Formula/Deep V rear wheel. It has black handlebars with red Charge grips handle and a big sticker saying FISH AND CHIPS on the side
The purple and white is a vintage Dangre frame, with dp18 back wheel, BMX black crank, Sella Italian seat in baby horse skin, short handlebars with white Soyo white grips. It also has a Trackstar sticker on the left fork with a King Kog one on the other side...
Here's a pic. In fact here's two - the second one is what my friend said she'd like to do to the thief. The file is called 'I'm gonna strangle this fils de pute' - Now, I don't speak French, but I think I can guess which side of the 'is violence to bike thieves justified?' fence she comes down on.
