The spring looks like it is in the right place, what exactly is wrong with it?
Also, do you know if the outer platform bit of the pedal is removable from the eggbeater part?

Looks like the spring has gone too far up (according to the pic) it should be evenly distributed accross both wings as they move both ways.
I'd take them if I wasn't a weight weenie!

Herman Shake has it exactly right, the spring's out of position and moved up past the point where it should be held in place, so it no longer holds on to the cleat.
I haven't heard of anyone removing the platform, they were sold specifically for the feature, so it might be a bit of a hack if you try.

Price drop: Anyone fancy them for a tenner?

Hello,
Can the egg beaters be taken out and the pedals used as standard platforms? If so sold for £10.
Thanks,
John

You know what? Money's overrated. Who wants these for free? Collect from Barbican daytime.
Hi all,
Here I have a set of Mallet C pedals for sale: one in good condition, the other one has a rather fatal flaw in that it doesn't work. It looks to me that a spring has slipped past where it should have done. I presume this is repairable with the time and inclination. If not, get yourself a good pedal for £15!
I'm around Barbican area weekdays, and Wapping the rest.
Tom.
