I wasn't talking keirin for less than £100, just anything! I'm chickening out of my armstrong. Well not sure if i can be bothered to wait for a respacer kit for my rear hub and also thinking phil wood hubs aren't really worth it for a £26 frame. am thinking dolan maybe..

We have a friend who lives in Japan... The average price for a Japanese track frame is around £350 shipped to the UK. Of course you could get them cheaper if you went there... but how much is a ticket to Japan? We have had a couple at £300 but they were a bit tatty round the edge's. last week we had a Bridgestone 51x51, a Peloton 54x54 (which the only frame not sold yet), an amazing Makino and a Gan well pro. If say someone wanted a yellow fluro Bridgestone... we could have our friend look out for one at the right price and size, then get it shipped here.
Also the yellow presto and that pink frame in the pic up top are 66,000 yen... which is £280. The Nagasawa and Samson next to them don't even have a price, you have to ask... Do you think they will be cheaper? Or slightly more expensive?

Hi Andy - Ben here - you built the back wheel for my sixties Gillott conversion a few weeks back - rides sweet, thanks!
I took these pix two weeks ago today, and Punch isn't exactly overrun with customers, so if someone here wanted one of these frames it would probably still be there... maybe your man in Tokyo could get it and ship it over, with a little mark-up? I'm sure those prices would come down too...

oh didn't realise that, sorry...
actually dolan frames aren't really good either for the money, kowalski had some rather bad experience with them.
save the armstrong for polo :) -

yeah... i think i might. at this stage i just want a frame, preferably with STANDARD FSCKING MEASUREMENTS, preferably in purple (but obviously not necessary), for not too much money. I've found one for 6 quid in yorkshire pick up only... seriously considering it!

May I recommend a Japanese buying proxy service like Celga
I've been using them for about 8-9 years for buying trainers and clothes from Yahoo Japan auctions and also from Rakuten online mall
More recently they started offering a shopping service from any Japanese online or mail order store. You just pay their bidding/buying fee of about $10 per 10,000 yen and ask them to ship it as a gift value anything you like and never pay any customs fees. They will will even bundle up bits and pieces you buy over a month or two and ship it together in one box and all you pay is cost plus paypal fees.

Sorry if I'm being obtuse - what's the bright blue frame in the fourth photo from the top? That's such a nice shade of blue. It's like a lovely summer's day. Almost enough to make me misty-eyed. :-)
The photos are really great. All those bright colours... Top stuff. I don't suppose you've got any more?

it's a stratos

Thanks, glow. Now I know it's a Stratos, I can read it on the head tube without any bother at all. The writing was far too small for my eyes before I knew what it said.

Fatbloke. Were the pictures of the yellow Bridgestone and red Samson also taken at Punch Cycle? Looks amazing

MDee. All taken at Punch, except the one pic from Carnival of the rack of bikes with the white tri-spoke at the back. Only reason I took so many is that a mate was planning to come to Tokyo after me and bring one back. His plans changed, so I thought I'd inflict them on you instead.
You're right, great place. Just like the rest of that insane city...

I've been doing my "thing" through Gabe at NJS EXPORT, they all have fixed shipping rates.
Normally goes around $120, they never mark them as gift, as the Japanese customs are quite restrict on this type of "tax evasion". But they've always seemed very flexible when it comes to get what you want, I got 2 frames, used sure, but really nice deals.
you can't even get a frame in japan for less than 100 mate, i don't know how someone managed to get one for 45quid. and there aren't keirin frames with regular dropouts. keirin = track racing.
