  • Might need something bigger..! 56cm is probably big for something like that but not big enough for me... I think.

Seat tube is 58cm with a 56 top tube, how tall are you dude i'm like 6 ft 2 and a big lump of a guy myself!
For tricks its pretty much the perfect geometry for me in terms of a fixed.

  • Its more like a 58 with a 56 top tube, how tall are you dude i'm like 6 ft 2 and a big lump of a guy myself!

    I'm 6'5" and 15st.

    Normal bikes I need a 62 or a 60 at the smallest.

  • Hehe Max's a fooking giant :) But armless.

    Armless is the new brakeless!

  • I said 'armless not armless haha.

  • nice pics...me want video...was hoping for more of that in your freestyle thread!!

Corrected, meant to say it has a 58cm st. For tricks you should always go a size down, for normal "proper riding" geometry I need a 60-62cm as well, but for tricks this is awesome for me, perfect size even.

  • Hmmm.. you got me thinking James...

  • I said 'armless not armless haha.

I know you did, no need to ruin it for me tho ;)

  • Just 'coz I got no arms yea... U lot luv 2 discriminate LoLz.

  • ^ Eurgh.

  • Hmmm.. you got me thinking James...

Don't take too long, got a lot of other people "thinking about it" as well ;), and i'm not asking a helluva lot for it considering the value of the parts.

  • PM'd you mate.

  • James, there's no way brakeless fixed is anything like brakeless freewheel. I actually ride bikes properly (bmx, jump bike, etc) and i nearly fell off a couple of times when learning fixed, with brakes, at a steady pace. U get them stealing bikes and trying to get away fast and im sure they'll struggle unless they've ridden fixed before. I, for one, would love to see some dickhead chav fall off a fixed whilst trying to steal it. Maybe we need to set up a sting?!

    i think it's better to have a hysterical-style mobs heading down onto a bike theft if they're about to steal a bike;

    YouTube - Japanese Mob

    how awesome would that be?

  • ^ That would be fucking hilarious. Would be a laugh if we set up a stinger and like 100 of us all ran at the thieves from 'round a corner. No matter how heavily armed, how many of them or how tough they are, they would run a mile.

  • CrazyJames - you ride with quite wide risers, right? How much more difficult would it be trying to bunnyhop with narrowish (38cm) track drops?

I saw someone bunnyhop on a fixed a few days ago and I gotta admit it didn't look like a complete waste of time. :P

  • It would be much more difficult to bunnyhop with narrow track drops!

  • You don't *need *to bunny hop mate!

  • I could get around a foot of clear air bunnyhopping my MTB, have to admit that I could never get the hang of pulling the front wheel up and then hopping (is this the American hop?), or rather I can do it but not get nearly the height of just hopping both wheels at the same time.

Tried little hops on my fixed gear just when dicking around- would be too worried about landing with the rear wheel stationary to try to hop over a curb or similar.

  • Never even seen a bunny in London.

My bars are not far off twice as wide as that, they are 68cm uncut and I had about 2cm cut off each side so about 64cm wide bars with a 3 inch rise ;)
Its still doable with track drops, but throwing the bike around is far easier with wider bars as "wider bars = more leverage = easier hops"

It would be much more difficult to bunnyhop with narrow track drops!

    More difficult, but still doable!

You don't need to skid either, but both are potentially "life-saving" and "accident-preventing" skills in situations that we all hope we will never have to be involved in, learning and being able to apply these skills to the degree where they are practically a reflex, could be the difference between riding away or laying in hospital crippled for life from said situations, so Ed....in the politest possible way...don't poo poo something just because you can't do it :)
Alternatively shut up until you have something sensible or constructive to say on the subject.

Never even seen a bunny in London.

You clearly don't frequent enough pet shops, we should do this sometime, its fun, if you throw bunnys they clamp on to whatever they hit as well, including people, its well funny! Although cats are more fun, like giant furry ninja shuriken!

  • The Crane fellow, what is his gearing, does he ride fixed. 30 mph on a fixed gear must take a while to get to.

    i ride around 70GI

  • Doubt it :)

    nice pinarello

  • I got on my bike today for the first time today since an elbow injury last week and found it hurt my arm to skid (leaning over the bars). I'm glad I have a brake because I didn't realize it would hurt until I was pretty close to colliding with a truck. Nearly fell off and hurt my other elbow.

Balki, meet Crazy James, not sure who the guy on the left is.

  • Jaysus!

    Big bunny.
