  • brilliant!

  • Hah! He can retire now :)
Very happy he's finally bagged it.

  • That is good news.

The 14 year old in me wishes he'd done it on that rigid Kona though (I know how impossible that would be).

  • brilliant work. top guy. top rider. put the time in and quietly achieved.

  • 'bout time too.

  • Pfft! He wasn't even pedaling half the time!

  • top work.

  • Fucking hell, he's still going strong? I remember him quite fondly back in the 90's, fantastic to hear that he's still going strong after a little over a decades.

  • Warner inteviews Peaty? I feel like Im back at school reading MBUK
Looks like he's on a Santa Cruz still, It was quite nice seeing him ripping it on an Orange.

Well done Steve. Great interview as well. Rob Warner doing the interview is awsome. Those two were like propper heros of mine back in the day.

  • Yeah I remember watching DIRT on vhs with.. i think Dave hemming Jason McRoy Rob Warner was on Saracen and there was one other hairy bloke too... Steve pete wasnt in a video till later i think it was called get a grip... looking back they were uber cheesey but used to hype me up

  • Isn't just going downhill, well, sort of cheating?

  • No because unlike most riders SP rides fixed and brakless.

Dont let it fool you riding DH is hard, its like the 100m sprint compaired to marathon - you need explosive power, balance, co-ordination and a healthy disregard of physics.

  • Watching the runs is very impressive, landing off a drop and straight into a corner, I could never get that, I like to beable to chill after a drop.

  • I had heard there was going to be an appeal on the grounds that his massive iron balls added an unfair weight advantage.

  • I deliberatly didnt mention balls... then you read my mind.. damn you quinn

  • If you can ignore Rob Warner's commentary, this to me is bike handling...

YouTube - Sam Hill Downhill World Cup 2008

Fantastic news about Peat though - Canberra's not the most popular course, but it's been a long time coming. Well done to the Eddy Merckx of DH...!

  • If i still had a vhs playa id be digging my copy of Dirt our right now!

    Well done Peaty

  • That commentary is great.

    He's going soooo fast!
