Yeah, more just a reminder i need one. I have seen them at CRC for £16. Most stuff there is just a reference. Once I know the components I'll go hunting.
I have to do some reading on current disc brakes too. Never used them so I have no direct knowledge of them.

Reckon you might need some wheels ;)
Seriously though, I was just looking at the on one site, reckon I might be going for an almost identical setup when the next paycheque arrives.

Wheels? I'm riding straight on the hubs... minimalista.
I have some cheap wheels leftover that will do the job until I can get some nice ones built

I built up an On One Scandal SS recently using their slot dropout frame. It's turned out to be a nice bike. Very light. One thing to be aware of if planning to use disc brakes is that the On One frames (pretty sure this applies to the Inbred frame as well) have the brake mount on the chainstay, rather than the seatstay. This means that the hose is routed along the downtube/chainstay, instead of top tube/seatstay. As a result you need longer hoses. Also, there are reports of some brakes not fitting into the space between the chain and seat stays, and On One were less than helpful when I asked them which brakes would fit.
I built the frame up with Avid Juicy 3 brakes which I bought second hand (but never used) from a guy on Singletrackworld, which fitted comfortably (1300mm hoses in my case for the large frame). Also Mavic Crossride wheels, also bought unused second hand on STW. I had most of the rest in stock, including some Reba forks, Race Face Turbine cranks (square taper), carbon bars etc. Ended with a 21lb build, inclusive of pedals and tyre air. 32/16 ratio.

After selling off all my bikes and making some space- Im really feeling a need for a 29r rigid singlespeed for light rippage on the downs - reading this thread has made me wish for a bit of soggy half-light singletrack. cheers guys you might have cost me a few hundred quid there

Looks good, have you looked into the on-one bars? they do some really nice shapes. I've got two of their stems and a lovely midge bar (dirt drops, can be set up with mechanical discs with the right levers), which I can really recomend.
Look like this (not my bike, mores the pity)

If you're desperate for a frame, I have a 2008 model Giant M2 (was there an M3? If so, it's that, it's the crappest of the range) frame that might be accident damaged - there's a compression ring on the top tube from when a Golf driver gave me a flying lesson a year ago.
Still, it's free (or a couple of cans of beer ;-)) and if you don't live too far from Wapping I can probably deliver it as well.

Gotta be middleburn cranks, with a nice shimano un54 bb, and some nice basic brakes like avid juicy 3s/5s, or shimano slx.
sounds good, but i think the freewheel sounds pricey to me, may be best buying from somewhere else.
