I use pure Shea Butter. A little goes a long, long way and it works brilliantly, both pre and post ride (e.g. if you have sores you need treating). Works out cheaper than dedicated chamois creme, yet chamois creme (e.g. Udderly Smooth) has shea+vaseline+fillers in it, shea being far and away the most expensive ingredient. Go figure! Final plus - no nasty skin reactions. I have some excema and it causes no skin issues at all. And girls tell me it causes no tingling, an extra plus if you're female. Well worth a try!
