I gotta say, I like the footage but its a bit readers wives,
I enjoyed Mash because it was filmed very well and in a place unfamiliar to me but there is not much more you can do on a road, on a fixed. Unless of course one of you can promise that you will be revealing never before seen tricks.-and it is so 2 years ago.
Theres no doubt that everyone involved had a great time but I just dont see what the film is adding...If I want to watch tom, dick and harry skid; I will go to one of the drinks and ask a more enthused rider to do one, or shout 'do a skid' to someone on the street, or go to trixiedix and watch people wear out their tyres.
Skating videos worked because they were trick based and they showcased skaters and their skills, people like watching the tour and giro because their competitions. If the coverage focused on riders chillin wit their bikes, drinking beer, 'prangin' and riding 'for fun', people would stop watching it.

I'm not so sure. If you can accomplish a nice "hanging out" feel, and if you can integrate that spirit with good riding that's well filmed then you're on to a winner. Riding fixed isn't all about tricks, so you shouldn't expect skating video formats. A large part of the fixed culture is hanging out with friends (even virtually ;) It's social, and it would be a shame if a video missed that. Especially if it's trying to show the scene in a particular area. I think culturally, lifestyle elements of things like this are increasingly interesting to the viewer and perhaps crucial to the success of it.
If you get these things right then, as smithchild says,it will make people want to ride their bikes. If you've achieved that, I think you've done well as a filmmaker (in this instance.)

Riding a brake? who cares, It's personal preference and the whole controversy is a little boring now.
I didn't implied that they should be riding with brakes, I said that it's the first one I've seen where brakes are noticeable.

MrS myth said it best. Great fun to do and be part of but it's like wedding photos and party photos or photos of little Joshua at sports day meaningful to the people involved meaningless to every one else.
It's got good production and all that. It will be a worth while in learning the techniques to use but it really needs to be about something more than "scene", an event or achievement is a better subject.
