  • Nice......

    YouTube - southpark - nice

i watched that about 1 week ago, ive just started watching southpark

  • I got Mavic Razors much cheaper than £90. Wiggle, I think it was. They were nice, but didn't quite suit the shape of my foot.

Well made, and worth considering, but FFS, go to a shop and try some stuff on first (and even that only gives an indication of whether they'll be comfy in the long run).

  • I got Mavic Razors much cheaper than £90. .

    got mine for £45 ;)

  • BMMF - i will. . .

  • What is the best shoe for a completely different activity for the one I want to do.

I intend to start a thread called, "what is the best welly for breakdancing".

Shimano RT51 are a road shoe for £50 that look like they will do fine for road and MTB in all seriousness.

Well i've got a great pair of road shoes that I never wear because when i'm done cycling to somewhere, I tend to do a bit of walking afterwards and switching shoes getting on and off the bike was just a pain in the arse so I went back to clips and straps so I think people have a very good reason for using MTB shoes on road bikes.

  • most of the Gaerne shoes on Chainreactioncycles are on sale at the moment and they look pretty solid.

as mentioned before, Sidis are great. i bought a pair of old stock on ebay for £30 which fit very nicely. some sizes are more readily available than others, though.

  • Mavic Razor - Same as the Avenir road shoe, but with MTB treads and MTB Cleat fittings - 90 quid

I've just brought those, they're really fucking comfortable and perfect with Time Atac ROC.

  • lol, well done ed

  • Sidis are shit, the Adidas I formerly had pissed all over them until the carbon sole disintegrated.

Adidas don't make them any more so this post is a complete waste of time.

  • I thought that Adidas were thinking about re-introducing their cycling shoe range, or were you talking about that specific model?

  • But Adidas have now been rebadged as Mavic, which, as we've already seen, may be comfy for Ed whilst he's getting his miles in between Calthorpe St and Condor, but irritated my instep and little toe on the more modest century and track rides I was doing when I bought them.

  • Oh, and Brixton had a lot of white Sidis on sale, although I'm not sure a) what sizes and b) whether it is just road shoes (they probably are - white MTB shoes would look so fucked so quickly).

    you ever got into insoles?

some specialized BG insoles and footbed thingys put a swift end to all the foot problems I've been having for the last two years. High arches you see.

  • My feet are flat as fuck. I do use the cheapo Specialized insole (in my Sidis) that came in some crappy spd trainers. I also tried it in the Mavics.

The problems were all about the uppers and the shape of the last. I've got Italian feet.

  • Cheap Shimano MO85's - comfy, ratchet closing, £44.99. I'm happy with them.

Fast, red, but bits keep falling off and are expensive to repair?

  • what's wrong with Sidi insoles?

  • I find them a bit thin and cardboardy feeling.

    Cheesy, oily, popular with vegetarians.

  • They're not much liked on the whole. I find them a bit thin and cardboardy feeling.

Good to know. Where would you recommend I look for something better if I don't get on with them?

  • The usual suggestions are Specialized BG, Sidas Conformable, Superfeet, etc.

I've got insoles from various old pairs of trainers getting a second life in assorted cycling shoes.

That's good to know more option in getting a perfect fit, ta for mentioning that!
