There's 8mm difference - could be a problem with a track frame. Check the length of the cranks as well. I'm sure you can work everything out with a measuring tape. From what I read, imperials are measured to the edge of the rim, but 700c together with the tyre. But I can be wrong

I recently saw many different styles of 27" tyres for sale on eBay
agree. useful. So if you have an old frame redy for restoration, how can you tell what size rim it should take. I have a couple of old ones awaiting a makeover. I have no idea of the date, brand etc. I have an old 700 rim (measures 622 on the rim) and there appears to be about 15mm clearance on the fork. Could a 27inch squeeze in there?
