firstly, just because it's in the transmission database doesn't necessarily mean it's an accurate chainline or the correct set up. Some are, some may not be.
Do those BLB cranks have seating on the back to run an inside chairing? if so, maybe the person running the longer spindle length has the chainring on the inside to compensate for the few mill it's being pushed out.
