Earphones / Headphones: Where to try, what to buy?

Headphones are just shit. Shit. Shit. Shit.

Music is for listening to on loudspeakers or even better, live.

Listen to music. Or walk around / ride around, and take part in it! Don't try to do both at the same time. Don't be a fucking lemming. You look a prick nodding on the tube, sucker.

Anyone remember how uncool headphones were just before iPods were released? Fucking nerdy loser gear is what they were. Now you can carry your entire music 'collection' as digital compressed shit files, why are they suddenly OK?

Don't get me wrong I love music. Just not whilst I'm walking down the street or yes sitting on a train.

I think low frequencies need room to breathe.

I think I could just about handle a talking book, on a plane or somehwere where I'm really happy to be cut off from my surroundings.
