+1 on the Moulton Midi. They are superb bikes for the smaller woman. My girlfriend has two and loves them.

If she wants a road bike, then she might find a 650c wheeled ladies triathlon bike. That would be my first thought. A mate of mine picked one up off EBay pretty cheap. he's 5'6" and reckoned the handling was much better for him than a 700c wheeled bike.
Or if shes after a carbon TT bike., these go down to 44cm seattube (horizontal geo) with 650c wheels :)

^^^ I think anything like that's gonna be too much. Just spoke to her and the max is about £150.
Also she doesn't know what she's after really (typical), so I'm just gaining options to present to her!
Also she's a novice, big time

5'2 is very short, finding a frame that fit her is pretty hard so your best bet is to get a frame that's designed for 650c wheels.
the Fuji Track also come in 650c for people who are under 5'3 (42cm).
the IRO Mark V HD is a 650c version of the popular Mark V for people under 5'3.

Ha! ok. well it's one of those folders with the big wheels that looks like a mountain bike. to be honest, i never fold it up becuase it's too big and i go pretty fast! but i think that's more a reflection of my powerful legs than the bike!
it looks like this: http://www.dahon.co.uk/jack.htm
good luck with your search anyway!

Funnily enough i sold the moulton to a large man, for himself. He looked like a circus ape

I was taking the piss a bit with the carbon TT, but the point was a serious one. At 5'2" 700c wheels would unsuitable IMHO. I just did a quick search and the PX was al I could find (lazy).

^Thats a less lazy answer for you :)
A cheapish 650c wheeled road bike is the Pro-lite Ahem kids bike ahem. As kids bikes, I imagine these come up second hand alot.

My sister's got a 49cm (I think) pretty pale blue Raleigh step through she's wanting to sell as it's too small. If you're really desperate I could find out more for you, but she's in New York and it's at our parents' house in Norfolk so it might be a week before I could get it down.

I got my GF's bike from this guy on ebay. He had loads when i went to pick it up. The bike was in good condition and he'd obviously given it a decent once over.
He's located near Guildford, which isn't too far away by train....
Anyway... might be worth emailing him to see if he's got anything.

^ Ta mate
Hi,
I have been trying to find a bike to fit my girlfriend but pretty much everything is too big.
Doesn't have to be a fixie, anything considered (road, mountain, tourer etc), and the cheaper the better! A bike made with 650c wheels would be great.
Can collect from London anytime :)
