The map above is the best I can think of to avoid the A12.
Not particularly hilly either.
125KM's from Bank, if we left at 8-9 we could get through the East-End before it's denizens where sufficiently awake enough to operate their front doors.
No crossing-point at Wivenhoe which is a shame.
