  • I only seem to have one photo from that night:

Me and - Matty - showing people how to stand when you're really cool- drinking, smoking, that pose does it all!

  • The "subtle gun show"

  • God the blanket generalisations are flying.... girls are crap on bikes but they ride better and get more? Certainly some confused male brains out there.

Don't take anything said on here too srsly, it's the internet after all.

    YOU'RE the internet!

    in your face!

  • So is you're face! [sic]

  • gah i missed this
i need to get a calendar
but i have no way to remind myself to get one

    hope you all had fun!

  • New to the forum and The Bridges was my 1st ride with you guys - sounds like there were quite a few of us still wet behind the ears. Hope y'all had as good as time as I. A big thanks to all involved in organising and keeping us on the straight and narrow - good work! Catch you next ride

  • So, given talk of 250, with 180 on the list, and clearly loads of people there, how many people were there really on this ride?

  • Can't too busy trying to work out why you look like you're going backwards...

Fail of using 2nd curtain sync.

Adoubletap was conducting a count at the off.

I think the answer lies somewhere between the number who rode with Lance Armstrong in Dublin following his twitter appeal and the number who rode with Russ Downing in Rotherham following his similar appeal.

  • But how many bridges did they do?

  • There is a grand bridge in Dublin, just at the end of what was Sackville Street where Nelson's Column used to be.

Adoubletap made it 254 I think, Diapo's video on the first bridge is around the same mark (maybe a couple more, I lost count in places)

I don't do serious so it appears I'm saved.... add to that the fact I am crap on a bike, AND I'm not getting any and, well its all true so I've not a leg to stand on.

  • I've not a leg to stand on.

as we can clearly see in that picture.

  • just got back from doing the ride again, but in the Rain. Did one bridge twice and found a new footbridge that's not in the ride. epic fail!

it's a different ride altogether when you have to make your own directions

  • Yes - what about Hungerford Bridge?

  • i didnt cross that one but it is another bridge not on the list

  • Battersmith Bridge?

  • ...

    ...

Please do tell which foot bridge was missed?

The Hungerford double footbridge was missed purposely as people don't like climbing up and down stairs.

  • The route flow works sweet both ways at the moment but would be interested in trying to fit in another crossing if you could point it out.

  • It's Fulham Railway bridge, (next to Putney bridge) BlueQuinn pointed it out earlier in the thread...

    http://www.londonfgss.com/post873046-197.html

Very similar to Barnes Rail bridge so prob not worth adding it to future rides.

  • Hmm, see if I can work it into a future route.
Could do one side of the Hungerforder Bridge so the North-south flow isn't disturbed.
I can see how it got missed, doesn't show up on Google maps at all.

    Cool.

  • Actually, scratch what I said before.

Looking at it carefully I believe the inclusion of the hidden Fulham Railway Bridge is a non-starter.
Travelling either way it disrupts the flow of the established route, which is pretty good, so I don't think it is worth adding.
