Locked up outside the Reebok gym in Canary Wharf tonight and saw a half dozen nice fixie skidders there. Very nice Aende missing a front wheel which I hope the rider took in with them. The other lock through the frame didn't look particularly robust if memory serves.

^^^^^ Ooh snap good call...
I think it's the fact that it's a rarity to see a beautiful girl on a real nice bike that makes these "spots" seem mysoginistic or objective... So I guess it's a bit of a self perpetuating condition... Also this rarity causes fellows who see girls on bike to over-actively search them out as companions or partners as a love of cycling can be seen as a common ground- I know my girl's cycling is a definite plus for me, being able to ride around with your partner is genuinely a great thing to be able to share, so girls, don't be discouraged! Ride your bikes, and just like day-to-day life, ignore the creeps, take the compliments and enjoy that sh*t!
Pedal on!

There are definitly plusses to having a partner who cycles, regardless of the gender.
However, just like in other aspects of life, if you see a pretty girl that you fancy, go talk to her, don't post about her on the internet ;-)I'm a "chick", but I get excited about how many women are riding these days and want to do everything to encourage more of them getting on their bikes, this seems to include trying to educate men on the internet about manners, but it does seem to be working and I really appreciate the effort.

I once attempted to talk to a girl on a lovely NJS frame. It didn't go well. I said "nice bike. what is it?" She looked me up and down, spotted the gears on my Steve Goff and haughtily replied, "a Japanese Keirin frame" and rode off.
I really did only want to know what make it was.

If I posted this...

..would you take offence?

Yeah well unfortunately just because a girl rides doesn't mean she's not going to be stuck up, same goes boys too...

Tattooed guy overtaking me on Victoria Embankment this morning - can I have your shiny red bike please? It's more my size than yours! Very pretty frame indeed.
