I ride as everyone on the road is trying to kill me, usually they are.
I hope you get well soon, and that you dont let this worry you when riding, it happens sooner or later.

to be fair i have almost been hit by addison lee's on clerkenwell road multiple times due to thier own stupidity, not indicating, u-turns without waring and cutting across traffic when they should give way... and funnily enough i was thinking they weren't all bad as until a couple of months ago i'd had no incidents. maybe it's just one driver but either way i'm gonna key the next one that does it to me...

i am at the point of london riding where if a Taxi doesn't perform a stupid, pointless and reckless driving manuva i thank them as i pass - a sad but honest truth.

Yesterday I saw a lorry indicate right then turn left! That's a first for me.

nah you need to ride the south coast lost-lorry-driver-sleep-deprived-trying-to-read-gps-to-deliver-tomatoes route I do I see all sorts of "interesting" park jobs and indicating

ps ped said "no you first" to me today I thanked them so much I must have sounded like a bit of a nutter...

The pedestrian lights changed and the bikes were able to stop. I wasn't (front brake and fixed)

As a motorcycle rider as well as a cyclist im going to make a bit of a sweeping generalisation and say that - in the city - if the motorbike n scooter could've gotten away with going thru on amber they would have, the fact they both stopped suggests to me that the lights started changing/changed far enough in advance of them arriving at them that they felt compelled to stop.

Im going to guess that instead of looking on down the road anticipating hazards you were looking back at the taxi, shouting abuse/giving the finger etc and when you decided to look where you were going you realised you were heading straight for a pair of stopped motorbikes?

+1 - not saying that this was the case here but it reminded me of when a car pulled out from a left side street in front of me on a 'blind' corner to turn right (i.e. car could not see to his left so shot out ) and I took 2 seconds to look back at the what I called ' a fucking twat etc ' and didn't see the tail gateing car behind him who was also taking this 'green light' to go as well.
Bang!
