Seeing as this thread has turned into "where's good to lock up in [insert location here]", I'm going back to Birkbeck College in October, I've been locking up there in the daytime for 2 years but from now on I'm doing 6-9pm*. Anyone else regularly lock up outside there, or Soas, UCL etc?
*I went for one evening session last year and afterwards a group of young scruffy bike shits surrounded me/the other bikes, muttering to eachother things like "do you think he'll fight back", "look at that one, it's like the one I got last week"... I just pretended to have problems with my front wheel and banged it on the ground angrily till they got bored
