Practically I always cycle on 2-7, and never change gear. So it's almost Fixed Gear, somehow?
Unless I'm trying to cycle up a hill to the gates of Oblivion or something, those kind of hills are horrible!

A friend of mine told me there is a fairly dangerous part of the cycle to Brighton, saying there is a huge downhill that bends and apparently 1 cyclist in 20,000 is fatal? Anyone hear of that?

To be totally honest, sound like BS.

There a few fast descents but if you stay in your lane and don't go shooting round blind corners then you'll be fine. Just common sense, innit.
