  • NB not my picture! I merely saw it on flickr or somewhere. (I've already forgotten who took it. Poor form.)

    • goes off to look *

I saw that flick somewhere else too but kinda just breezed past it, never took in it's merit til it was pointed out...

    lol ta mate ;)

  • Just Awesome!

  • Good ride so thanks for coming and making it so very massive.
Cool that we can do a thing like this and ride around such a great city, relatively unmolested, hanging out with friends and acquaintances checking out interesting places and new perspectives, seeing things and going places that may very well have been new for many people.

Glad everybody got back safely to where they needed to be.

    Apropos fights and injuries:
Unfortunately whenever you increase the numbers you also up the probability of someone getting hurt. What is important once these things happen is mediating the situation and sorting out the solution. Thanks to the wonders of the NHS we had the chap who broke his clavicle dispatched inside of 20mins into the back of an ambulance and en route to hospital for further attention with his friends bringing up the rear to take his bike home.
We missed a bridge and were able to join up again with the main group.

Glad you all turned out and had a good time.

If anybody thought the pace was too slow or didn't get the social aspect I can only say one thing:

    Cheers everybody.

  • Apropos fights and injuries:

    There was a fight?

  • Spotting a bunch of fixies locked up at ChinaTown at 3am for refuel
i think that might have been yeh731, wools, 2 parisian guys and myself, we were on whitcomb st.

  • Props to Ma3K.
    Bright Times in London Town.
Highlight for me was burning through Putney with Pickle (i'm a plane) and Jim (You probably don't remember, but the timing of your melons gag at the v.end was comedy gold).
Oh, and being left holding the bike as the whole pack took off (mo-mo...ha!)

    • Heal fast Simon J ?
  • Again, Thanks Ma3k!!!
    Truly magical experience!
Great night, good people, lovely scenic routes, crazy booze Britain run back east!
    Cheers!

    +1

  • +1 also

great night, cheers everyone. Special thanks to Multi Grooves (beer owed therein) and Dancing James.

  • Sounds like a good social jaunt - Ex-squadie laying out a troublesome tool and OnOneNiceGuy leading out a social ride with his mad skills albeit innocuously and unrenowned.. Aaah bless the aging simpleton

Great work Jonny Mask – one more bridges before the years out????

  • Super - if i'd a known i would have come to pick up that chain ring of you!

  • I had it in my bag and was asking around for you! Only remembered last minute so didn't give you warning. Also don't have you number in my new phone for some reason?

  • that was an absolutely brilliant ride. really enjoyed my first, and long overdue, bridges ride. the site of so many (were there really upwards of 250) snaking over our wonderful river was awesome. right from the off as riders rolled round the back of bojo's house and up on to tower bridge.

a simply massive thanks to Ma3k. legendary organisation and keeping it all together. i thought the pace and stops were fine. and even managed to slip a further cheeky stop in with shins when we stupidly thought we had got to the front of the pack when we were off the back. loved seeing that many riders not getting doored ;).

robertstrack. cheers for the comment dude. there was a mutual appreciation thing going on as we headed home via hammersmith. that roberts is a real beauty.

and there many other nice bikes out there. i loved seeing some of the clown bikes people were rocking up on.

great to see so many old faces and meet a few new ones. will defo be doing the bridges again.

  • Low Points
Asking a couple of smartly dressed ladies if they were looking for business. They were not.

That was definately a high point for me, watching your face change when they turned around to talk to you. Haha

  • Bright Times in London Town.

That was a wicked burst of pedal power, bright times indeed!

Glad to avoid a slap with a swift and humble apology. They were very angry though... Must have been a slow night.

Note to self: drink less and grow up more.

  • Oh dear, I missed this. Really rather gutted. Not really sure why.

  • ... Must have been a slow night.

Ha! It was great entertainment from where i was standing.

  • Guys, I only found out about the LFGSS last week - a fruit of the gumtree I believe. Loved the ride on sat eve - my first and not my last.... The sound of the milenium bridge and the slice of dark park were novel little tidbits of fun! The guy clipping the curb doing a spectacular flip to re-break his collar bone in front of me - slightly less fun. Now the cherry has been popped I will remember to porter own beer and pack a lion bar. Managed to get back to Brixton in a paced 40min. Bring on the next one, and thanks to organisers.... oh and where were all the girls? There were like 6 of us out of a couple of hundred - why?

  • Cool pics but I saw a guy videoing everyone riding across one of the first bridges, anyone know who it was?

That vid would be great as everyone's in it!

  • .... oh and where were all the girls? There were like 6 of us out of a couple of hundred - why?

Girls can't ride bikes cos they're rubbish

  • This was my first bridges ride and was MEGA fun! Although the kids i came with ended up at the front, my friend JOSH stuck by my side and kept me laughing the whole way!! cant wait for another ride

  • Now now kind soul - that is a bit of a blanket call about girls on bikes isn't it? I guess "generally" its pretty spot on though...

Yup it's blanket alright.... includes you.

It's only jokes anyway. Everyone knows it's people riding brakless who are shit on bikes.
