bombcup.. it might be eye candy without the probe attached to it :P
I've got a bag of Waitrose Monsoon Malabar and some Coffee Buzz from the little Broadgate cafe to tide me over until I get to Monmouth or order some Square Mile.
Haven't you still got those weird Kenyan Pea Berry beans, or whatever they're called, that I gave you months ago?

Nope. I used those up as soon as I could (ages ago). I try not to hang onto beans too long, hence not having any Monmouth at the moment. I only buy if i will use 'em.

Not my cup of, er, coffee. What did you think?

@bmmf: To be honest.. I can't remember if I like them or not. Apparently caffeine effects memory but I don't agree with something.. I don't remember what I don't agree with but it's something.
I'd want to try them again in a side-by-side with Monmouth or SM.

I've been enjoying some very chocolatey high roasted Mexican beans this month. That is all.

I ran out of coffee this weekend and had to buy some Illy expresso from Sainos - it's no way as bad as I'd remembered, but cost a fricken fortune - £5.30 for 250g. Still, gonna hot foot it to Monmouth when I get a moment. That is all from me. Thanksgoodbye.

Macap MC4 commercial espresso grinder for sale from very conscientious owner. £250. Lots of good reviews around, think it's the doserless one.
The ad is in the members section of toomuchcoffee.co.uk, I'll try to get it moved so folks here can see it. Meanwhile contact me and I'll pass messages on if anyoune's interested. I'm getting married on Saturday so may be a bit slow responding.

tayler street baristassuprised monmouth didn't make it. that has always been my go-to place for a decent cup.

i think it's just because monmoth is the only decent coffee that most people know nowadays. plus two of those people are monmoth customers anyway.
cool list, my three favourite shops on it. always so excited to see taste of bitter love get some good press, probably one of my favourite coffee hang outs in the world.

Guys, do you know of any stores selling Calcinet or Puly Baby sachets? My machine is taking 2min to pour a shot! I'm hoping it's just limescale buildup. I'll use some of those descaler sachets from Waitrose initially (citric acid, I think) but I'd prefer a bulk tub of Puly stuff.

My impression of the coffee here has been pretty weak... We've got coffee chains in adelaide that do an amazing standard of coffee and I suppose I never knew how lucky I was...

You're probably going to the chains. Most of them seem to have scary staff turnover rates and the coffee is always pissweak or destroyed by being blindingly hot. Seek out the 'better' places though (there's a map) and you'll find stuff to match Melbourne coffee.

That's nice, but not really what the thread's about.

Just used Waitrose descaler (the bottled stuff, not the packets) and it took AGES to get it flushing clear. I must have run 5-10L through the bloody thing. Good news is the "Beelzebubzara" is pumping the H2O through like it used to. Job done.

I broke the valve off that mukka i got from you - might be in the market for a new machine. got owt you can spare not £€$
-
• #1274
How did you break it?
I've only got two machines now - one at work and one at home.
You should get yourself a Gaggia Classic or Silvia or something. Or you could buy my Bezzera and I'll upgrade :)

can't believe you have youe own machine at work!
anyways i'm skint. haven't you heard the arse has fallen out of advertising and i have a sprog?
So what are people using to brew their coffee on here? I've been using a Rancilio Silvia in conjunction with an Aerobie for a couple of years, but I was just thinking about getting something different just for a change!
